Our story
Catholic schooling at Goodwood is said to date from 1896, when Father Gandolfi started a school for parish children. Monsignor Byrne opened a school for boys in 1909, and in 1914 the Sisters of Mercy from St Aloysius College took it over as girls were admitted.
In the late 1920s children from the nearby Goodwood Road orphanage joined the school. Today St Thomas' is a Reception to Year 6 school with a preschool, still shaped by the Mercy tradition.
