Our story

St Patrick's Special School was founded in 1944 by the Dominican sisters Sr Mary Ignatius and Sr Mary Anastasia, in a one-room building beside St Patrick's Church in Grote Street. In 1951 it moved to a prefabricated building facing West Terrace.

Now at Dulwich, it is a small Catholic special school for students with intellectual disability, global developmental delay and complex needs, from age five until they finish school. It runs three buses to bring students to and from school each day.
