Our story
Dominican School at Semaphore was established in 1899 by the Dominican Sisters of Cabra, after Fr Patrick Aloysius Enright, parish priest of the Port Adelaide Mission, saw the need for a school offering the families of the Le Fevre Peninsula a full religious and academic education. It was first named Star of the Sea.
It is a Reception to Year 6 school in the Dominican tradition, built on the four pillars of prayer, study, community and service. Children baptised in the local parish, and siblings of current students, have automatic entry subject to places.
