History

Tatachilla Lutheran College

Tatachilla Lutheran College grew from a vision held by the Reverend Garrie Fischer for a Lutheran school in the McLaren Vale wine region, built, as the college puts it, on an ancient sandstone rock. It opened in 1995 with a single Year 8 class of 67 founding students on Tatachilla Road, McLaren Vale.

Willunga Waldorf School

Willunga Waldorf School opened on 15 March 1989, when founding teacher Marita Huxholl welcomed eight children to a kindergarten in a local community hall and lit the first ‘story candle’ with the hope of one day building a full school from kindergarten to Class 12. The school grew on the site of a former almond orchard just outside Willunga, about 40 kilometres south of Adelaide, and many of the original trees are still there.
