Our story
Woodcroft College grew out of a 1982 decision by the Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Adelaide that every family wanting a Christian education for their children should be able to have one. That led to plans for a new Anglican co-educational school in the fast-growing south of Adelaide. The Reverend Dean Barker was appointed founding principal of Woodcroft Anglican High School in February 1988, and the school opened in 1989 with 71 students.
St Hilda of Whitby is the college’s patron saint; its colours of blue, gold and red are linked to her, and its motto is ‘Persevera in Fide’ (persevere in faith). Today Woodcroft is an Anglican co-educational college at Morphett Vale from early learning to Year 12, with more than 1,400 students across its junior, middle and senior schools.
