Our story
King’s Baptist Grammar School began in February 1983 as Tea Tree Gully Christian School, set up after months of planning by members of the Tea Tree Gully Baptist Church. It started with 38 primary students and grew quickly, reaching 85 students in relocatable classrooms by 1985, and the board then sought land in the new Golden Grove development for a school from Reception to Year 12.
The Wynn Vale campus opened on 7 February 1989 with about 300 primary and secondary students, and the school took the name King’s Baptist Grammar School. Its motto is ‘Visio Fidei’ (Vision of Faith). It is the only Baptist school in South Australia and is affiliated with the South Australian Baptist Union, though it is inter-denominational in focus. A second campus opened at Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills on 30 January 2023; it started with ELC to Year 2 and is adding a year level each year.
