Our story
Sunrise Christian School Paradise was set up by Sunrise in partnership with the board of the Paradise AOG Church (now Futures Church). It opened in 1989 with about 40 students in transportable classrooms behind the church, and has since grown, with most of the transportables replaced by permanent buildings.
Sunrise Christian School began in 1978 as a ministry of Adelaide Christian Centre in Sturt Street, from a vision of its senior pastor, Leo Harris, who made the first donation to the project. A steering committee was formed in 1977, and the first Sunrise school opened at Fullarton in 1978. Sunrise now has six campuses, two of them in regional South Australia, and is governed by Adelaide Christian Schools, which also runs Temple Christian College.
