Our story
Sunrise Christian School Morphett Vale was founded in 1994 after the elders of Shekinah Christian Fellowship (now Gateway Church) asked Sunrise to start a school in Adelaide’s south. It began in a few classrooms where the early learning centre now stands.
Sunrise Christian School began in 1978 as a ministry of Adelaide Christian Centre in Sturt Street, from a vision of its senior pastor, Leo Harris, who made the first donation to the project. A steering committee was formed in 1977, and the first Sunrise school opened at Fullarton in 1978. Sunrise now has six campuses, two of them in regional South Australia, and is governed by Adelaide Christian Schools, which also runs Temple Christian College.
