Our story
St Columba College was planned in 1995 and 1996 as a joint venture of the Anglican and Catholic archbishops of Adelaide, Ian George and Leonard Faulkner, and it opened in January 1997 with 207 students. It was the first combined Anglican and Catholic school of its kind in Australia.
Its inaugural principal, Madeleine Brennan, was appointed in 1996, when building began on the primary site at Andrews Farm. The government approved secondary classes in 1999, and from 2000 the college grew into the Reception to Year 12 school it is today.
